Jeffrey Love concentrates his practice primarily in estate planning and administration. He has extensive experience counseling closely-held business owners and individuals on innovative estate planning strategies. He works closely with other professionals, including accountants, financial planners, insurance advisers and other attorneys, to implement tax-efficient plans and sophisticated trusts to help meet his clients’ goals of estate and gift tax reduction, asset security and beneficiary protection.
Jeffrey’s counseling services to business owners include offering advice regarding initial business organization, implementing effective shareholder agreements and tax advice to help pass businesses from one generation to the next.
Having represented executors and trustees in multiple jurisdictions, Jeffrey also has extensive experience handling estate and gift tax audits, litigating tax controversies, and prosecuting and defending contested fiduciary accountings.
Jeffrey has experience implementing estate plans for minor and adult beneficiaries with special needs. He often works closely with matrimonial attorneys in connection with tax and asset protection issues incident to prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, property settlement agreements and the implementation of estate plans during the pendency of a divorce proceeding and post-divorce.
Jeffrey has extensive defense litigation experience in trial and appellate courts in multiple jurisdictions, including insurance defense, professional liability (attorney malpractice) and the defense of government entities and officials in state and federal courts. He successfully argued the unanimous New Jersey Supreme Court decision in Jiminez v. Baglieri, 152 N.J. 337 (1997), on behalf of a state insurance fund.
Jeffrey has received an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Bergen County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
