Biography
Ivette M. Vargas concentrates her practice in Commercial Real Estate and Land Use matters.
Prior to joining Winne Banta, Ms. Vargas worked for a prominent New Jersey law firm where she assisted clients with the purchase, sale, and leasing of residential and commercial properties. Ms. Vargas also gained invaluable experience helping clients navigate and resolve zoning and land use disputes, affordable housing issues, and related litigation.
Ms. Vargas served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Mary C. Jacobson, A.J.S.C. (retired), in Mercer County, the Honorable Steven C. Mannion, U.S.M.J. and under the staff of Honorable Freda L. Wolfson, Chief U.S.D.J. in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Ms. Vargas earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School, where she served as the Managing Articles Editor for the Rutgers Race & the Law Review. Ms. Vargas was a semi-finalist in the Hunter Moot Court oral argument competition and was named winner of the “Best Brief” award in the Hunter Moot Court Appellate Advocacy course. Ms. Vargas was also awarded the Nicholas and Kathleen Talvacchia Land Use and Real Estate Development Award, presented to a graduating student who has demonstrated excellence in the study of land use law.
Ms. Vargas is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, and the Bergen County Bar Association.
Ms. Vargas is fluent in Spanish.
